God’s View Point Empowers You To Keep Holding On

But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream saying, “Joseph ,son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

(Matt 1 : 20)

How was Joseph going to cope with the situation of getting married to a pregnant young virgin? Yes, the Holy Spirit had spoken to him but what about the rest of the people living in the neighbourhood who are not aware of what the holy spirit has said to him? How will he handle the mockery, scorning, pressure from family members? How was he going to defend the Judaic law concerning the situation? These are all the challenges that confront us when we are compelled to take a decision as directed or inspired by God. Every other person thinks we have gone crazy. Can you imagine your parent’s reaction when you tell them that you want to marry a widow with three grown up kids or a man with hearing impediment simply because God said so? All hell will break loose because they can’t understand that. Neither will they understand why you are still holding on to a woman who has failed to bare children for you and is advancing in age just because God said so. The question is “Can you see your situation from God’s perspective? You’ll never give up if only you can see how God sees. A young man married a lady with one short leg and the family members went wild but he insisted because he heard God. This lady took in after their marriage and on the day of delivery, as she pushed the baby out, her short leg stretched out. This awesome miracle got the family to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior. Isn’t it amazing? Once you can see from God’s point of view, you can withstand any pressure hurled at you.

Evaluate Yourself & Take Action

Can you see where God is taking you to by making such tough demands on you? This is what will build your resolve to stand firm on your decision.

Will you be bold & radical enough to stand for what God intends for your marriage/family?
